     Have you ever wondered, where are you Lord?  I have true Christian friends who are very real and in their time of trouble, they have wondered, are you with me?  Life has a way of revealing many things to us.  As we grow into women, we experience turmoil, loss, and pain.  We also experience disappointments in ourselves as well as others.  No one escapes these things.

     However, I have found when we look at ourselves, our circumstances or just what I call "earth bound," we lose all perspective.  Psalm 121 takes us from ourselves and moves us into the realm of God.  Who are we anyway?  What is our purpose?  Do we really believe that God did so much?  Where is our security?  The only security we truly have is in Jesus Christ and in the resurrection.  So if you are feeling defeated today and everywhere you look seems to have no meaning, take heart, the Lord is near.

Psalm 121 NIV:

            I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
            From whence comes my help?
            My help comes from the LORD,
            Who made heaven and earth.
            He will not allow your foot to be moved;
            He who keeps you will not slumber.
            Behold, He who keeps Israel
            Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

            The LORD is your keeper;
            The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
            The sun shall not strike you by day,
            Nor the moon by night.

            The LORD shall preserve you from evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

This was my prayer 10 days after I lost my mother.  I was looking earth bound instead of looking for Christ.  I didn't know where to go with my thoughts or feelings.  I didn't even know if I had any left.  But the Lord revealed to me that He never sleeps and that He is near.  I am not alone and either are you.  Pray this prayer and begin to understand the power behind the Cross; it's worth it.

My prayer today:

May the God of Israel, the maker of earth and heaven be a comfort to you today.  May He reveal himself in a whole new way and may you find peace in his arms.  Lord comfort those that can't pray and reveal further to all of us your mighty power.  Encourage us to be strong and to look up and not down.  We thank you for your power and strength and we thank you for the blessings You have provided to us. I pray that any woman that reads this will become stronger in You and that she will know You are near.  I pray that our faith would grow and that we would know You better.  Thank you for being our father; we need you Lord.   Amen
