September 16, 2012

Good morning all-

I spent some time this morning in the Psalms and as usual it ministered to my soul.  I love the Psalms, every word is written with such thought and emotion.  I can almost feel the Psalmist as pen was going to paper.  Picking up the Psalms is like taking a looking glass right into my heart and seeing the hand of God.  If you don't often hit that part of your Bible, I suggest you go there today.  It reminds all of us of the hardship our forefathers faced and of the birth place of our Lord.  The Psalms are an accumulation of trials, hardships, peace, prosperity and a true need for God to be present.  David is the author of many of them and when you take that into consideration you truly understand why he was a man after God's own heart.

If you wish to get closer to God, read a Psalm a day and then in your journal, write a prayer to God.  If you do that for a whole year, you will be able to see the trials, the triumphs and the peace God brought to your life.  There is no greater place to be than at the feet of Jesus.

So with that being said, I am enjoying my coffee and just finished a couple days of "Stepping Up," by Beth Moore while preparing for a week full of stress and knowledge.  What more could you ask for? Well, I can think of many more things but nothing worthwhile in God's kingdom.  So, as I was thinking about everything I have to do this week and reading and looking up Scripture, it came to me that the theme God has been putting on my heart is prayer for our cities and our countries.  It's almost been overwhelming, especially since we just commemorated 911 in the US.  If you look around the globe so much is happening with Korea, Syria, the Middle East and in many of our cities throughout the world.  Massive terrorism, intimidation, drugs, fighting, and death are occurring by the hour.  We think we live in a peaceful nation but turn on the news and you'll see that another wife has been killed, a college girl is missing, or someone killed themselves from bullying, really?  My point is there is no peace, not really.  People have become fascinated in the here and now and want everything for nothing.  The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.  We don't even take care of our elderly the way we should.  Some countries already decide whether your worthy of living or dying and the US is slowly drawing nearer to socialized medicine too.  Man is making poor decisions and instead of praying, we are using our own wisdom, which really isn't wisdom, to decide the future of our nations.  Scary right?

So how are we to approach the world and all its chaos then?  We can pray!  We have the ability to pray for our cities and our countries but more importantly we must pray for the hearts of the men and women living in those cities.  If a true change is ever going to occur, it must begin in our hearts for God to prosper our cities or our nations.  The people, not the government, are in charge of praying and believing that Christ is who He said He was and that He has the power to restore.  If you don't believe me, turn on your television, go to the Internet or get on your phone, it's people that change their environment and since we aren't God, how do we exactly do that?  God calls us to our knees of course!

We all live where Christ landed us.  You might like where you live or like me, you might yearn for a more exciting place but eventually, you have to realize that God put you where you live for a reason and it's our responsibility to invest and pray for our city.  Also, we must be praying for Israel.  It is our Father's nation and if we abandon them, God will surely abandon us.  Pray for all the leaders in every nation too.   They need our prayers.  Men can't make good decisions on war or peace if they don't have the power of the cross behind them, so pray.  You can make a difference without ever stepping out of your house by getting on your knees and asking the Lord to intercede on the behalf of your nation.  It takes about five minutes to really go before the Lord and ask for His will to be done on your house, in your city and for your nation.  So make the commitment today to pray for that and also don't forget your sisters in other lands, they need your prayers too!

Jeremiah 29:7 NKJV:

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile.  Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."

Psalm 13:5-6 NKJV:

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.

It's Sunday so go sing to the Lord and keep those songs close all week.  Rejoice if you live in a place that you can worship Christ openly.  There are many of our brothers and sisters in Christ that can't for fear of death.  If you live where God can be spoken, you are more blessed than you know.  So speak, rejoice and sing!  We have nothing to be ashamed of, as a matter of fact, we have everything to give thanks for, don't you agree?

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before You as a humble servant to the cross.  You have placed on my heart a great need to pray for Your people, not just in the US, but all over the globe.  You are mighty in power and majesty, for You formed the oceans and the sky and we should all bow down to our Maker.  As I read the Psalms, I am overwhelmed by the emotion and thought I hear in each one.  And I know as I pray and sing them how powerful they truly are.  To have a heart that yearns for You is a mighty blessing and I hope I carry it all my days.  This world continues to bring hardship on the house of our Lord but You are mightier than our enemy and one day You will come and destroy the beast that lurks in the hearts of man.  Please Lord, protect Your servants and place on their hearts the needs of Your people.  All we ask is that You come be with us and that You will protect and prosper our cities.  We don't deserve Your hand Lord but we are asking for it today.  Please unite the women on this blog and all women that love You, wherever they live, to pray for one another and build upon the tapestry that You have created.  We seek You by day and by night and today, we pour out our hearts to You.  We are at the gates of Jerusalem, in our spirits, praising and worshiping our Lord and Savior.  Bring Your Holiness to our lands and fortify Your people to be the men and women You need today.  We love You Lord and there is no place we would rather be then in Your house, sitting at Your table, worshiping You!  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 15, 2012

Have you ever tried to look for a Scripture and you can't find it?  Even with my Bible application on my phone, I sometimes can't find what I'm looking for.  But today as I was contemplating all the things God has been revealing to me, Matthew 18:20 NKJV popped up.  This has been a Scripture I have repeated to many but because I haven't memorized many Scriptures, I couldn't remember the exact verbiage and therefore, couldn't find this Scripture.

That brings me to another point, memorization.  I am going to challenge myself to pick a Scripture once a week and memorize it.  If for nothing than to know the word on my tongue.  I'm pretty good at finding it but how awesome will it be when I can recite it word for word.  So, I am hoping that you will join me and as you accomplish a Scripture, you will comment on this blog.  I want to hear from you so that I can know what God is putting on your heart.  Right now, all I know is what He's putting on mine.

And what He has been putting on my mind, is women.  Women all over the world, in every nation, that desire to know Him.  He has encouraged me morning after morning to have a heart for His people and to write about Him.  He has asked me to pray for all His flock because we are the mothers, the wives the grandmothers and the caretakers of the next generations.  We are important in History and will continue to be important until He comes back.  We are the ones that stood at the cross and went to the tomb.  We are the ones that were faithful when the men were to scared.  He gave women the courage and the fortitude to worship Him and I believe He calls us to stand with our men and fight this holy battle.  We are helpmates and very needed today.  If you don't feel important, look at your friends, your husband, your children or go to any location dealing with children and you will see the need.

More importantly, we are needed to be on our knees.  We need to be in the presence of Christ so that we can take care of those that need Him.  We are warriors in our own right.  We may not have swords and shields like in the gladiators age but we do; because we have prayer, faith, and the word.  What a powerful trio, don't you think?

The best way to come together in prayer is with two or more.  Why?  Because God does hear our prayers and it's powerful when we pray.  Haven't you ever united with someone and seen a miracle?  I have.  And over the last couple of years, I have sent out prayer requests for a young man who shouldn't be walking and he is and I have prayed for women that are close to me to heal their marriages, or their health or their hair.  I have prayed for my husband and my marriage and of course, I have prayed for my children.  I have prayed for the young girl I mentor who is now courting my son and what a blessing that is in my life.  I have prayed for the sick, the hurting and the unsaved.  I prayed for my father to know Jesus and in all these prayers, I have asked other women to unite with me.  I have called on two or three of my friends to unite with me and in the case of my dad, I called on my church family.  I know the power of prayer and I know when the trials are tough it takes more than me.  God hears all prayers and He answers all prayers.  But keep in mind, the answer might not be the one you're looking for.  His ways are the best ways even if we can't see it in the moment.

One of the other lessons I have learned in prayer is that even if I pray for specifics and join my friend in praying for specific things; I ask God to align my will and the will of those around me to His will.  How do I know if I'm praying for the right thing?  It looks right to me but only God knows what's right.   So I continue to be faithful and ask for His will to be done.  And of course it always is.  It's a comfort that the people I pray for are not my responsibility.  They belong to Christ and it is through Christ the prayers will be received and answered.

If you know of someone in need of prayer, call a few friends. You don't have to tell them the circumstances if it's highly personal, that would be gossip and we don't want to do that.  We want to begin to have a heart for the hurting and unite when God calls us too.  There are millions that need to be saved, fed, loved, healed and prayed for.  This is a career that could last a lifetime.  So, before you leave this blog today, pray for the hurting, the lost, and if you know of someone that needs prayer, pray.  If you would like me to join you in prayer, comment on this blog and I will join you too.  For our prayers are heard in heaven and that's all the reassurance we need.  Christ will take care of the people, we just need to be on our knees for them.

Be of good cheer my friends and pray for one another.  There is no greater way to be a good friend than to pray.  If you think about it, someday, when we are on the streets of gold, people we don't even know may walk up to us and say, "Thanks for the prayers."  I know I will be thanking many but I will especially thank Jesus Christ who loved me and never left me.  His will on my life is my bread and I pray that He would continue to reveal to me my next steps.  Have a wonderful day.

Matthew 18:19-20 NKJV:

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before You with women all over the world.  We are praying for people to find You.  We are asking that You would bring peace in the world, calm the financial storm and help us all to remove the cloak of apathy.  We want Jesus to be known from coast to coast and from ocean to ocean.  There is no one like You.  Generations are dying from Aids and violence.  We are losing good men to war and others are dying in terrorists attacks all throughout the world.  We are just women, with not much power, but we do have You Lord and our power comes through You, the cross and our prayers.  So today, we are uniting for a fallen world, we are binding evil and asking that You would place on our hearts the needs of Your people.  Help us to be good stewards of the things You have given to us and help us raise the next generations.  We realize that we are sinful and that we must ask for Your forgiveness. So we come before You now knowing that we need to pray. If we hold anything sinful inside, it's hard for us to pray and since we are emotional, we must cleanse our thoughts and our hearts of anything that is not aligned with You.  Lord, we know that You have the power to bring women, men and children, in every nation, to You.  We know that someday, every tongue will confess that You are Lord.  Help us to pray for Your people, for our countries and for ourselves as we try to align our will to Yours.  We need to die to our flesh and the only way we can do that is by putting You first on our minds and in our hearts.  We wander and You herd.  We cry and You wipe our tears.  We sing and You sing with us.  We pray and You hear our prayers.  I know the workers are few but please help those of us that want to spread the word have courage to be bold and fearless.  You have given us a great gift and we thank You for it.  Without You I would be dead but with You I have life.  Today is a day we rejoice in Your sacrifice.  Hear our prayers, O, Lord and help us win the battle!  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 14, 2012

It is by grace you are saved!  Did you know that?  There is no way to earn your way into heaven, isn't that a relief?  If that was the case, I'm sure I would be turned away.  So, it is by grace we are saved.  It was the love of God, who sent His only Son Jesus to die for our sins.  One man, took on the sins of many, and today we are called His children.  We walk on this earth knowing there is one God with three parts, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  After Jesus died, we were filled with the Holy Spirit and today we can walk in faith and truth that Jesus died for us and covered all our sins.

There will be a day of judgement and none of us will escape.  We will be called before the Lord and He will judge.  The great thing about our God is that every sin is forgiven when we ask.  It is put to the East or the West but its far from us.  Unless, of course, we keep it close.  Because along with sin comes shame and we love to hold on to that.  But God calls us to let go, to believe that He has forgiven us and know that when we ask for forgiveness, we are forgiven.  That is such a relief!  I sin, you sin, we all sin and I'm so glad I can wash it away and learn from it.  Of course, we need to learn from it.  So if you're repeating a sin over and over, you haven't made the switch yet.  Take some time to figure out why you keep repeating the behavior and ask God to change it.   He will.

Throughout my life, I have struggled with the sin of my parents and the sin of my own actions, which oftentimes left me depressed, scared and worried.  It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I realized when I asked for forgiveness it was truly forgiven.  My fear comes from failure.  Somewhere along the way I thought I needed to be perfect to be loved.  This was not reinforced in my home but I began to build a case around my thought life.  And as you can guess, it was the wrong way of thinking.

People look at Christians and think we have it all together.  That can't be farther from the truth.  As a matter of fact because we are Christians we know we don't have it together.  We are sinful and with our hearts we confess it and ask Jesus to reveal it to us.  So, whenever you see a Christian do something they shouldn't, remember they are tempted just like you and me.  Sin is in all of us but those that follow Christ are judged harsher by man and can often fall harder.  That's why we are told not to judge anyone because you never know when you'll be judged.

The reality of being a Christian is you did nothing to earn it.  It was bought and paid for you on the cross.  Jesus died for you so that you could rejoice with Him in heaven.  You can't earn it and you can't bribe your way into heaven, so if God is calling you to be His child, except today.  It will be the best gift you were ever given.  Following Christ is not always easy.  There will be times you feel stretched like a rubber band and believe me those times are very uncomfortable.  But I have always come out of them thanking God for what He showed me.  And I think, I'm becoming a much better person for them.  Of course, you would have to ask those closest to me to really know if that's true.

Life is about choices and I can tell you the best choice I ever made was at 20 when I chose Jesus Christ.  I didn't always follow Him like I should.  I definitely didn't read my Bible like I should and I have to say I've wandered in the desert more times than I would like to admit.  But through prayer, I have always found my way back to Him.  He truly is my light.  So, if you're struggling with God and you're not quite sure where you stand, ask Him.  He is there for you and has offered you the greatest gift, His love.  People will disappoint you but Christ shows up when you most need Him.  You may have to look for Him but He's there.

If you don't know Christ today, keep seeking Him.  He wants you to be part of His fold and I do too.  There is no greater place to be then in His arms.  Please join me in praying for every woman seeking a Savior and rejoice that God still saves!

Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.

My prayer today-

O, Lord, I come before You today asking just one thing, that You would bring women all over the world to You.  That these women would come to know You and that through their faith many around them will find you too.  Women need to hear the call and I know You are calling.  So help us all to be faithful and to pray for the unsaved.  We were lost once and You came and delivered us.  I'm praying that You will do that now.  Women need a Savior and they need to know that their shame can be washed white as snow.  We don't have to worry or fear because You are our comfort.  So as I sit and write to You, I pray for those women and ask that I would be faithful in the fight.  Help us, O, Lord to find You in Scripture and to spread the good news.  For Jesus died on a cross and rose again!  We are saved by faith and not by works.  Only Your hand can save us.  Please instill this in every heart as we cry out to You.  We need You Lord and the only one we want to boast about is You!  Please bring Your women forward in a mighty way and show us all the power of the cross.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 13, 2012

I can't believe we're in the middle of September already.  The time just flies.  I was thinking about how many things have changed in a year and if I let it, it would overwhelm me.  Many people say they just don't like change but everywhere I look there is change.  We can't stop babies from becoming teenagers, we can't stop the aging process and we can't stop the seasons.  No matter how hard we try, if we don't change, everything around us will.

As I type this, I am thinking about how much  my life changed when I first accepted my call.  It happened right after my dad's death.  I had felt called to write and to speak to women for years but with the responsibilities of ill parents, children, and a not so steady marriage,  kept me from moving toward His call.  God could have helped me then but I was overwhelmed and didn't think I had what it took to write for Him.  Now I realize, I was missing out on the blessing, not God.  Since I was little, I loved to write and read.  It really is my only talent besides loving and talking to people.  I can't throw a ball and if you could watch me to try to run with my husband and I do mean try, you would laugh your head off.  I'm not an athlete and I'm not a great mind but I love people and I love God and for whatever reason, He gave me a talent to write about Him.  The transformation came when I was sitting at the funeral home with my brothers.  I realized I could never be silent again.  I couldn't hold all this knowledge and love I had for Christ inside.  I had to speak and find away to reach the women God was calling me to share my faith with.  He had taken me through many trials and I had paid Him back by my silence.  No more.  I didn't want another person at deaths door without me at least saying, "What about Jesus?"  Don't get me wrong, I did try to have talks with my father.  As a matter of fact, my son was desperate.  He had gone and bought Him a Bible and several books only to have my dad become quiet and really not want to talk to Him.  He felt broken and He was right.  He was the child and I needed to step up and talk to his grandfather about Jesus.  I commend my son for hearing the call and gently sharing the gospel with the man he loved.

So, I made the confession in the funeral home, in front of our pastor, and to my brothers, which by the way, one doesn't believe in Jesus.  I sat there with more confidence then I have ever had and for once, I changed my course.  I took the steering wheel and began to write this blog.  It hasn't been easy and often I have felt like maybe I am not talented to do this but then I put those thoughts behind me and began to write what's on my heart and behold, we are at 200 prayers, 200 or more Scriptures and 2100 hits to this blog.  I know it's not that many but everyone that hits this blog is God picked and I am so grateful for each one of you.  You keep me going.  It's challenging to get up every morning to write.  It was much easier in the summer but every morning I am so pleased to sit down and write and when God reveals Himself to me, I am blessed.  I hope this blog blesses you too and comforts you as it has me.

I can honestly say that spending this time with you and God has made this year the best year of my life. And though I approach the one year mark of my father's passing, I can say I am more blessed than when he was alive because Christ has filled in for my parents and continues to direct my path, just as they did.  I can't think of anyone else I would rather learn from, can you?

If you're investigating if Christ is real, don't take my word.  Read over my prayers and the Scripture that has been placed on this blog.  Go see a pastor or just ask God to reveal Himself through Scripture.  Christ doesn't need me to tell you He exists.  The great thing about being a child of God is that you can go directly to him, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  I know because I do on a regular basis.  He has become my manna and my sustenance.  Without Him, I would be dead but with Him I am changing, growing and more loving.  My heart is wide open and continues to want to spread His word.  I pray that if you don't know Him, you find Him today.  He loves you and is just waiting for you to say, "Yes."

Be of good cheer today my sisters and remember a day that starts with Jesus is a day blessed.  If change is going to occur anyway wouldn't it be better to talk to Him this morning?  Preparation is the key when it comes to change and the only way to prepare is to bow down and worship our King.  He's waiting for you, not the other way around.  I thank you for coming onto this blog and supporting me as I continue to fulfill my call.  I am blessed and I hope you are too.  I leave everything to Jesus today and I hope that you do too.

John 13:34-35 NKJV:

"A new command I give you:  Love one another, as I have loved you, so you  must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Numbers 23:20 NKJV:

I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, thank you for making us faithful to You.  Thank you for coming into our lives and blessing us with Your presence.  Change is coming and with it we must come before You sometime during the day to be fed and watered.  You are our water.  Without You, we will wither and die.  But with You, we have fullness of life, direction and light.  Our soil becomes rich when we read the word and our hearts become full as we come before You.  We continue to be a sinful generation, marked by the desires of our flesh.  Help us to become servants of You, dying to our flesh, and making You known.  We are not perfect and often, we don't listen.  Please open our minds and hearts to You so that we can hear You!  We desire You in our lives, being our Father.  You are a mighty and powerful Father and we gladly stand by and watch as You change lives from death to life.  You are everything to us and we worship You today.  May You bless women all around the world and please bring the seekers to us.  We want to tell them of the great and mighty God we serve.  Help us Lord continue to share the word but more importantly, help us to love.  For love is the key to our hearts and You called it from the beginning.  A person that feels love is a person with many blessings.  We ask that You continue to protect our houses as we preach Your word.  Give us wisdom in the dark and light our paths toward tomorrow.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 12, 2012

Good morning all-

Obedience is the key to following Jesus.  Why you might ask?  Because there are many times that we don't feel Jesus is with us.  We follow by emotion.  On one hand, that's good because it's far easier to get a women to Christ than a man.  Or at least that has been  my experience.  Men are very logical and they want all their questions answered.  Especially about other worlds.  We don't work like that, we love the emotions of life.  It's fun to laugh and play and we especially love to fall in love.

We were created to love, to nurture and to be somewhat emotional but God clearly calls us not to be led by our feelings.   Feeling are deceiving and they are used sometimes against us.  As my pastor eloquently said on Sunday, "If he walked by feelings, he wouldn't be spending very much time walking with Jesus."  Why?   Because our feelings are fickle and so is our heart.  We are all sinful creatures and when we sin, we often don't want to be anywhere near our Maker.

I know you can relate.  We are our best when we are rehashing old sins, asking for forgiveness for the 50th time and thinking that God is punishing us for them.  We are up and down and all around and when we get weary, we stop, stand still and ask Jesus to calm the storm.  Many of us experience these feelings in our teenage years.  I don't know about you but I was truly a mess.  And when I say mess, you could have said colossal mess.  I was wonderful to the outside world and devilish at home.  Nothing my mom said or did made me happy and often I was grounded for my attitude or my mouth.  I can remember shouting, "Your so unfair."  And like a good mom, I was ignored.  Why?  Because the battle would have been against my feelings and my mom chose to pick those battles and teach me a lesson of courtesy at the same time.  I learned it but it was often the hard way.

Most of us learn things by hitting the wall a hundred times.  I think we like to see how many bumps and bruises we can get before surrendering.  I know that throughout my life; I have hit that wall thousands of times.  I'm surprised I can even walk.  The good news is I learned to obey and I learned to trust, that doesn't mean I don't fight fear or worry.  But in the end, I will die to myself and surrender to my King.  It's really the only way to stay out of the storm.

If your insides feel like they are chaotic and the storm is blowing you into a reef, you might want to sit down, pray about it and surrender.  Obedience teaches us to trust and faith comes from trusting.  God designed our walk with Him perfectly.  He left none of the details out.  We should confess He is our Savior, pray, obey, trust, have faith, and die to ourselves.  Wow!  Sounds like a road map to success, don't you think?  We may never understand His ways or His thoughts but He wants us to understand how to be in relationship to Him.  It's not about a religion, its about Him!  The sooner we get that through our thick skulls the sooner we will obey and trust that He knows what He's doing.

I remember when I thought I knew everything.  I think I had just turned 18.  Do you remember that day?  We are so full of being an adult that we bolt out on our own, only to discover our parents were right after all.  Hard to believe but they do know something.  Now being a parent of my own and trying to guide two very strong willed boys, not sure where they got that from, it's hard to keep them from bruising themselves against the walls of life.  But I have my faithful Father that I go to and ask Him to help His sons to be better men, to be in relationship with Him and to protect and guide them all their days.  They might not be listening to a word I say but they're listening to Jesus.

Don't be afraid to trust in God.  Don't be afraid to be obedient to our Savior and don't be afraid to give your life to Him.  He is the only trustworthy thing in or on this earth.  He will guide you, correct you, love you and make you His own.  All you have to do is surrender and walk by faith not by sight.  It's a hard journey, I'm walking it just like you, but I know that He is near and no matter how many times I hit that wall, He's there to move me.  Thank goodness or I really would be battered and bruised.  Take some time today to ask the Lord where your heart wavers.  He will reveal it to you and when He does, repent and ask Him to help you remain in Him and always walk toward the light.  Jesus won't steer you into the wall, only you can do that.

Have a blessed day and know I am praying for you.  If you need prayer let me know.  And if you live in another country, please send a message on google so I can translate it to English.  I, like most Americans are incompetent when it comes to other languages but I want to be here for you and our King.

2 John 1:6 NKJV:

And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.  As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, grant the women of this blog the ability to be obedient.  Please calm our feelings and make us steady in our lives.  Give us wisdom to carry Your cross and provide us with sound minds so that we can choose you in all circumstances.  I am praying for the lost today Jesus.  Often, women sin and won't come to You because of their shame.  Cover them Jesus and make them new creatures.  Send women to them that will love them in their imperfections and give us the strength to be there by their sides.  There are so many women and I can only reach the ones You give me.  So, I pray for many warriors to step forward and begin in their ministries.  I pray that they would be obedient to You and hear the call.  I pray that we would trust that You have sanctified us to be Your hands and feet.  And that all our days, we would pursue You and the things that matter to You.  I know You love us all and that You are a merciful God.  Reign Your mercy on our countries and give us an abundance of the Holy Spirit.  We are crying for revival.  Will You bring it Lord?  Help us to raise strong men and women that love You and that desire a relationship with You.  You are all we need today.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow....

September 11, 2012

Good morning all-

Today is a day to remember the victims of 911, when a peaceful nation was attacked and many brave and wonderful people lost their lives.  Terrorist attacks are everywhere now.  Nothing will stop them because they are random acts of violence and unfortunately, the people that believe in what they're doing will continue until the end of time.

It's funny how a bad belief system causes havoc and how a good belief system brings hope.  Have you ever thought about that?  Your thoughts make up what you believe.  If what you believe is false, it can put you into sin, but if your thoughts are righteous, they can bring you hope.

My thought life is more important to me now than ever before.  I know it links my faith in Jesus when I am thinking about Him.  When I drop my guard and begin to believe I can do everything in my own strength, I typically fall into sin.  Why?  Because I believe I can do all things in my own right.  Does that align with the Bible?  Absolutely not.  We are to work hard and to do the things God has given us to do but often, I find myself asking Him for strength in the small stuff.  Why?  Because it keeps me honest, it keeps my mind on Him and it keeps me from believing I can do anything apart from Him.

We are all one step away from believing wrongly.  Did you know that.  You may disagree with me but if you think about it, terrorists believe they are doing an honorable thing.  They believe they are fighting for justice and they believe that their God wants them too.  I'm sure you can look in the paper and see the reports surrounding the church in Topeka that petitions funerals of dead men and women that served this country.  They believe they are in the right.  However confused you and I believe them to be, they will die believing they were just.  The problem is that nothing they do honors God.  God doesn't tell us to picket funerals, He tells us to love the unloveable.  He asks us to go to the ends of the earth and preach the good news.  He asks us to carry the message of hope.  Can we do that on our own?  No.  We must let God lead and then have His people follow.

I'm saddened that people all over the world live in fear of being destroyed.  I'm saddened that we have to send men and women to defend this country, where they have the potential of coming home wounded or dead.  I'm saddened that we continue to compromise our integrity at every angle.  And I am saddened that we forget what our Lord did for us on the cross.  At the end of the day, my prayer is that every tongue, in every nation, will confess that Jesus is Lord.  My prayer is that women and children will be safe and that countries will come together in peace.  I pray for a world full of hope rather than destruction and I pray that our children and their children are more faithful than we have been.

Turn your eyes toward Jesus today.  We can't change the chaos all around us.  We can't stop wars and we have no power over others thinking but we can pray.  Prayer has saved nations, brought battles to positive conclusions and saved many.  Prayer is the hope we must stand on.  No nation will be great until we turn our eyes toward Jesus.  Ask the Lord to reveal to you where your needing to change in your belief system.  We all have things we believe in and sometimes those thoughts can be wrong.  I want to always love the unloveable but I don't want to be apathetic.  I want to live for Jesus and I want Him to right my thoughts so that He will give me strength to do the tasks before me.  If you learn no other lesson in this life, learn this, our God is a mighty and powerful God, who is merciful and when called gives eternal life.  You can't work your way there, its His to give.

For all the victims of 911 and for every soldier that has served to protect nations, I pray God's hands on them.  May He find favor on those that grieve and may He bless those that are still fighting.  We thank the women and children that sacrifice their loved ones so that we can live more freely.

Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV:

     Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.  For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise;

Philippians 2: 2 NKJV:

fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, like in David's time, we must fight.  Battles have been going on for centuries.  Most of them have come about because of wrongful thinking.  I pray that you would right the minds of men and that peace would be near.  I pray for the soldiers and their families that give up their time to protect.  For the women and children left behind, I pray for Your hand to be on their lives and that You would bless them.  In every nation, there is fear of war.  War breeds destruction and nothing good every comes of it.  But You have told us that You will have mercy on the nations that look toward You.  So, today, I am calling the women in every nation to pray for their people and their countries.  Give them strength as they turn their eyes fully on You and the promises of the cross.  We know that we live in the end times and that chaos will roam but when we look upon You there is peace, prosperity, and light.  Please help the people of Syria as they continue to be in the heat of battle.  Bring about change, not just in the US, but in every nation.  You are the Leader, the President, the Maker.  Although men believe they have power, they have none.  You are the powerful one.  You have stopped armies, crushed countries and rearranged the Universe.  You have placed the stars in the sky and provided the sun and moon to guide us.  You are the only thing standing in the gap that keeps us from doom.  You are our Savior and we come before You, Your humble servants.  Put on our hearts the needs of Your people.  Raise up women that will stand with You through the dark hours and that will fight the good fight.  Keep emotion far away from this battle and straighten out our thought lives.  We depend upon You for all things and know that without You we are empty.  I thank You for loving us and for being merciful to us.  We need You today and every day.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 10, 2012

Yesterday out of nowhere my husband quit talking to me.  And luckily, I knew exactly where it was coming from.  The enemy.  So, I had two choices, one to be mad because I didn't even know what I did wrong, or two, choose Jesus.  And due to my faithfulness of reading and praying, I began to sing, "I will obey, I will trust in You come what may, I will die to myself and carry Your cross, I will trust in You." And then I walked right past my husband, waved to him and smiled as if nothing had occurred that entire day.  I chose to be quiet in the storm and to die to my flesh and be still.

Funny I know, because I am a woman of action and always want to know what's wrong so I can fix it.  It's hard for me not to get mad when I didn't do anything wrong and it's even harder to die to all those feelings and trust in the Lord.  But I remembered something vital, as I speak the truth to You my house might rock.  So, when the waves are crashing against my boat, the only line of defense I have is Jesus.  Is He your line of defense?  I hope so.

Choosing to die to yourself is very difficult.  We are full of raging emotions, such as, love, hate, anger, disappointment and sadness.  It is easy for us to choose love when we feel like it.  It's even easier for us to follow Christ when everything is going our way.  But what if everything isn't going our way?  What do you choose in those moments?

Years ago I ran away.  I let people determine my walk with Jesus.  If they disappointed me, Jesus disappointed me.  Then as I grew up, I believed and starting not looking at people but looking at Jesus and then when Jesus didn't fix my marriage, I walked away from Him too.  See the pattern.  Except Jesus didn't walk away, He continued to pursue me and love me even when I walked as far away from Him as I could.  He knew my heart, even though I didn't.  I was angry and confused that after 10 years of trying to make my marriage work it was in shambles and my dreams were completely in the gutter.  No longer did I dream of companionship, love or anything else.  I dreamed of running, so I did, right into sin and then, the consequences.  But just as I should have lost all hope, Christ came to me, He watched over me, and I came back surrendering all.

Through my surrender, He changed my status and restored and  resurrected two hearts.  He brought back together Mark and I  because of my obedience and Mark's desire to have His family back, which equaled our family being restored.  It's not always perfect and we still need to work at making us work.  But it's a whole family.  It took Mark and I bowing down to the Lord, forgiving one another and dying to our own needs to be one again.

As I challenge you to die to your flesh, I know what I'm asking you to do.  I've done it and it wasn't easy.  Just like yesterday, I had to die to it once more.  And as I died to myself, I watched God work in His mysterious way.  I saw my husband going toward the house but I kept walking the path we have been on for the last four weeks and you know what, he came back to walk the last mile with me.  He is not one to say he's sorry and he definitely doesn't do things like that but here he was, walking back to meet me and I saw Jesus!

If you're in a difficult situation, stop and think about Jesus.  What would Jesus do if He was me?  Give it time to sink in, pray silently and think of a Scripture or song that reminds you of God's character and then walk.  Jesus carried the cross on His back and I know that wasn't easy.  If He did that for us then He understands what He's asking us to do for Him.  This takes practice and a willingness to change old habits.  We must learn to walk towards the unloveable and love them anyway.  Again, not easy, but necessary to make us better followers of Christ.

Ephesians 2:1-10  NKJV:

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of he flesh and of the mind, and were by  nature children of wrath, just as the others.  But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together , and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.   For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

I started to type just a little of this Scripture and couldn't stop.  There is so much in this passage that should make us want to die to our flesh.  He saved us through grace!  So the next time your emotions are running rampant, take a breath and think about what Jesus did for you.  I know it will be difficult not to lash out, but die to your flesh and see Jesus walking toward you.  It's better to live by grace than by anger.  Take a moment today to contemplate all the ways God has had grace on your life.  I'm sure there are many just in the past week.  Remember that and in the moment, have grace.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I have often walked away and let my emotions cloud my judgement.  I come before You asking that You would remind me what grace looks like and help me have it in all situations throughout my life.  I know that the flesh is strong and it wants to hold onto every negative emotion there is but as I look upon this passage; I know I must die to my flesh and let Your grace seep in.  There are women all over the world going through tremendously hard trials, they may not be able to see grace right now, but I'm asking You to cover them and to protect them from the enemy.  I'm asking that You would help women die to their flesh and live for You.  I want us all to be obedient and to trust that Your way is the only way.  I know this will take time for we are stubborn creatures.  But help us live for You, walk with You and talk with You daily.  Let Your word by our guide and let our thoughts be on You.  I thank You for Your power and for the sacrifice You gave for our grace.  We are indebted to You for all time and I ask that we would take that debt seriously.  You paid a price so that we could be one with You.  Stay close as we embark on new adventures, love the unloveable and die to our flesh.  We are only human, Lord, and we need You to guide our feet, our minds and our hearts.  We seek You this morning and thank You once again for Your abundant grace.  WE ARE YOURS!  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 9, 2012

Where are you with our Lord today?  Do you look upon Him as a necessity or do you take Him out of the box as needed?  If you're not utilizing Him as an essential part of your day, it's time to change that and realize that He's not a play toy.  He's not a self-help guru or an evangelist.  He's your Father and He desires a relationship with you.  Faith grows when we recognize that we need Him more than we need air.  Now the world would tell you, that's the wrong way to think.  You should be sufficient in your own ways.  It says that you have control over every situation and if you think positively everything will come out in your favor.  Wrong!  Faith comes from dependence and surrender.  The two work hand in hand and never should we believe we are in control of anything.

We have been brainwashed, especially in the US.  We were told that if we went to college we would make great money.  We were told that if we wanted something, it was there for the taking.  We are the land of opportunity.  Really?   Funny, because somewhere around 2007-2008, the sky fell, the stock market crashed and millions were without jobs.  We over spent, feeling we were entitled to everything and by the way, Americans got lazy.  So, there are still thousands without jobs, our economy is still suffering and there are less and less jobs.  Why?  Because a nation that turns its back on God, will have a God that turns its back on them.  We have sacrificed everything we hold dear.  We don't treasure life, our elderly, or our God.  We spend an unbelievable amount of money on the things we treasure and we don't take care of the lost and lonely.  We have let lawyers dictate what is right and wrong and if you look closely our judges have forgotten the constitution.  We are not a land of opportunity anymore; we are Egypt.  Egypt was the darling of the world, strong, powerful and had tons of money.  And then one day, God destroyed much of what they held dear, with plagues and famine.  Why?  Because they believed in their Gods but not the God that mattered.

When we can have billboards all over America stating that its fine to be Atheist, I wonder what's next.  Will we see pagan billboards that say, "Christ doesn't exist."  I pray I never see that but that's where we are heading.  We are heading into the pit of despair and until this country gets on its knees and begins to realize that every drop of money and every bit of power comes through the Lord, we will continue to see the events that have been rocking us.  We don't have to be rocked.  We need to set ourselves back on a foundation where we don't give everyone things for free.  We need to make people go to work and be productive.  We need to help our elderly and our sick and we need to be on our knees praying for the people in this country as well as the people around the world.

China might be the only country that is doing well and guess what, they don't believe in God, they believe in Buddha.  We are so in debt to them that they are buying up everything in America.  Our loans are astronomical because we believe in living by credit.  We have to turn the tide.  We must look upon the Lord to provide and we must begin to live with Him in mind.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy a house or a car.  I realize that today to buy those in cash is very difficult.  I'm just saying that be aware that everywhere you go, someone is trying to get you to sign up for credit.  I went to a grocery store yesterday and they wanted me to sign up for their Visa card.  Really?  Even the grocery store knows that if you sign up, they will make money on the interest.  And the pitch was wonderful, nine months no interest.  You know what that means, the card has a 22% interest after that.  See, everyone is trying to get us to buy into having what we want when we want it but can we afford it, that's the real question.

Part of living in faith is asking the Lord to provide and finding out if what you want is what He wants for you.  The more we live apart from Him, the more likely we will screw things up.  The closer we are to Him, the more likely we will put Him first in everything, including our purchases.

After my mom died, I wasn't sure how I would get through a day.  I talked to her every morning and at least every night for my entire adult life and on the weekends I talked to her at least ten times a day.  She was my everything, what was I to do now?  I made a decision that day to make Jesus my everything.  To come before Him and allow Him to be everything to me, my friend, my father, my lover, everything.  I wish I had chosen Him first, from the beginning, but when you have people to fill the space He should occupy, you don't always recognize that you didn't.  So, today, I come before Him in the morning and ask Him for guidance, not just for this blog, but for my entire life.  You can't be one with Him if you don't seek Him.  I don't get everything I want from Him.  As a matter of fact, there have been times, He hasn't given me anything I wanted, but He has given me what I needed to get through the day and for that, I am forever grateful.

We aren't entitled to anything.  We are given it and as we seek Him we begin to change the way we think and feel about the choices He makes for our lives.  We might never get the answer as to why we had to go through a trial or why bad things happen to good people but in the end, we will know He is God and we are His.  So come before the Lord today and ask Him to provide for you, to change your heart and mind and to give Him control over every facet of who you are.  You won't regret it and thank goodness He is so patient. And don't forget to pray for those that you don't know, those in other countries and please get on your knees for it.  We must love everyone and the only way to truly love is to pray and have faith that Christ is near!

Ephesians 1: 15-23  NKJV:

Therefore, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when he raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.  And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, You are the designer of faith.  You help us to understand how to practice faith and where our faith should come from.  You call us to believe when we can't see and You ask us to come before You daily, not for You, but for us.  You have promised that as we seek Your face, we will see it.  So, today, I am calling women, all over the world to seek Your face.  To come before You daily and make You everything.  I am praying that women will hear Your call and remember that they are only sufficient through You.  We can't drive this bus without our bus driver and that's You.  You are the great conductor, You are building the momentum into something beautiful and we must sit and wait as our Maker builds the crescendo to its most beautiful place.  We are in Your life for no other reason than You chose us.  We must begin to live responsibly, in all things, including our finances and most especially, in what we treasure.  You should be enough.  You should be our treasure and we should work toward knowing You better so that we can live by faith and not by sight.  Help us to die to our flesh and make us new in You daily.  We don't want to keep You in a box. We don't want to live by what our culture teaches us or what our society believes; we want to live by what You teach and by what You provide.  We will not all be millionaires, we might not even have enough to eat or drink, but we do have You.  I pray that for every person that gets on their knees, that You would multiply Your provision today.  We ask only that You give us enough and that we remain in You so that every provision is for Your glory.  We love You Lord and although this world can take our focus from You;  I pray that the women reading this blog will love You all their days.  That they will come before You and seek Your face and that they will teach others that to be faithful is to know You.  We can't have faith when we don't have a relationship with You.  The gloves are off and we realize that we can't and won't be sufficient in our own strength.  You are our portion, by day and by night, we seek You and ask that You will reveal Yourself to us.  Continue to provide Your strength and give us courage to spread Your word.  You are mighty Lord and You are our Maker. We bow down to You today and ask You to be with us every moment of every day.  We know that without You we would be dust, so today, be with us so that we can spread the light to others.  Please protect Your chosen around the world and help those that don't know You yet, see You.  We thank You for our portion today and always.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 8, 2012

The day has dawned and it's time we begin our battle.  I am fighting many emotions right now.  The strongest of them is anger towards our enemy.  I am tired of watching good women, God's women, being destroyed in the battle.  I am fighting in prayer for the weary soldier who has lost her joy, her compassion, her sense of her power through Jesus Christ.  I am fighting and praying for the woman who is sitting home devastated that her husband has left, or that her baby is ill.  I am fighting for the single woman who is crying herself to sleep because she desires a partner.  I am fighting for you in whatever circumstance you find yourself in and there are so many that I probably can't even count them, but I'm fighting my sisters!

The day has not yet dawned here in Kansas and I woke up for battle, just as Joshua did so many years ago.  If I let myself, I would be full of fear but in its place I have courage.  Why?  Because not enough people are fighting and good women are losing the battle spiritually and through their minds.  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder begins as a little condition and it grows to a bigger, harsher existence.  We obsess and eventually we will grow very weary.   We might do this by washing our hands a million times, starving ourselves, over-exercising or often, we let our minds fill full of fear and worry, which often leads to anxiety and depression.  Our minds get full of all of our imperfections, our sins and just wrong thoughts.  It's time to stop!  It's time to take back our minds and let God reign in that area.  I continue to fight my mind but I will not stand and watch another woman be destroyed by her mind.  I can't change it but I can get on my knees and pray for every one of you!  Today, that's what I'm doing.  I can't sit back and let Satan destroy the weak.  I must align my will with Christ's.  I must ask Him to forgive my sins so that I can pray for you and believe me I'm praying!

We have a reason to fight.  There are women all over the world that need us on our knees.  And if you're like me, you know someone right now that needs you to be praying.  If you've ever received good news and didn't glorify God, you know what I mean.  What keeps us from accepting good news? I can tell you right now, it's not God, it's us.  We have let Satan creep into our minds.  We have let him deceive us and we have believed him.  We have to stop.  We have to pray for courage and for protection.  We must get on our knees and pray scripture.   We must fight this battle because if we don't, no one will.  We are being called to unite.  If you read this blog, you are one of God's mighty warriors.  You may be in training but He's calling you.  He doesn't need us but He desires us to be with Him.  We carry His soldiers, we treat and lift up His men, we are important, don't ever forget that.

His mother stood beside Him, when all His disciples fled.  She went to the tomb to prepare His body and He sent angels to declare He had risen!  Women were there on the forefront of the most important event in History and they have been there ever since.  We need to fight ladies and I don't mean with our mouths, we are definitely good at that. I mean we need to be on our knees praying for protection of God's people and especially with those He wishes to use in ministry.  We need to ask God to make us like a lion and humble us like a lamb.  We need to have courage by day, and a shield by night.  We must not forget that our Lord and Savior died for us and that His father sacrificed Him so that they might be one for us.

You may be thinking as you read this that you're not in a battle.  Then obviously, you are not connecting yourself to your Bible or your surroundings.  You are in battle, we are in the end times and someday we will be part of Christ's bride.  I don't know when that day will dawn but it will and we must be ready.  How are we going to get ready?  By not accepting the woes of this world and taking a stand for what is right, what is just and what is merciful.  The answer, as you know, is Jesus!

So, as I stand before you today, I'm taking a stand.  I'm coming to Jesus and asking for Him to make me a mighty warrior for His kingdom.  I'm asking for His blood on my house and I am asking that His crown of thorns would be on me.  I want to be a prayer warrior for you!  I want us to win the battlefield of our minds and move toward Him.  I know that the battle can make us weary but I don't want to stop fighting, do you?  We have generations of girls to raise.  We are mothers of boys that will turn into men.  If you're single, you have nieces and nephews or possibly someone you sponsor but nonetheless, you have a responsibility to a generation, to at least pray for them and to ask Christ to heal the nations, bring peace on earth and to save people.  The workers are few but the harvest is plenty.  It's time to till the land, will you stand with me and ask God to make you His prayer warrior today?  Fight the good fight my sisters!  He is near!

The battle of Jericho was won and the walls had fallen.  Joshua was victorious but soon after, he was on his knees asking, why?  God had just taken him through a great battle to victory but another was on its way and instead of standing still, having courage, and knowing that God would deliver him, he doubted.  We do that too.  We fight the battle and then all of the sudden, we regress.  We doubt that God is all knowing, all powerful and faithful.  We look upon God as we do humans.  And as we all know, humans let us down.  But God is not man.  He is God.  So, as you go about your day today think about these Scriptures, repent and pray.  The Lord is near, don't lose hope just because the victory doesn't look like you pictured it!

Joshua 7:5-10 NKJV:

And the men of Ali struck down about thirty-six men, for they chased them from before the gate as far as Shebarim, and struck them down on the descent; therefore the hearts of the people melted and became like water.  Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.  And Joshua said, "Alas, Lord God, why have You brought this people over the Jordan at all-to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us?  Oh, that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan! O Lord, what shall I say when Israel turns its back before its enemies?  For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear it, and surround us, and cut off our name from the earth.  Then what will You do for Your great name?"

So the Lord said to Joshua: "Get up!  Why do you lie thus on your face?

Psalm 71:8 NKJV:

Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day.

We haven't won the battle yet ladies but we must "GET UP!"  There is victory all around us.  The resurrection of Jesus is victory.  We may be lost but He will find us.  So, please stand with me every nation around the world and pray that Jesus wins the battle of our minds, our souls and our hearts for Him!

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before You, Your humble servant.  I woke up today with battle on my mind.  Not just any battle but a battle against my enemy.  I'm mad Lord that Satan is destroying women, in particular those that are mighty in You.  I'm frustrated that our minds are winning the battle and that faithful women are being pulled into not believing Your power.  I know that sin has reigned and I know that the deceiver, deceives.  At the same time, I know that You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  I know that You are mightier than the deceiver.  I know that Your cross gave us power and I know that Your resurrection continues to heal Your people.  I believe that You parted the Red Sea, tore down the walls of Jericho and brought Your people into the promise land.  I also know that sin makes You angry but You are a merciful God.  So today, I ask You to pour Your mercy onto Your children, in every nation, bring forth a revival.   Take the hand of those that don't believe and open their eyes to You.  Raise up women and men of integrity that are willing to fight the good fight with You.  Help us to band together in a circle around the globe.  Help us lift our eyes and our voices to You, singing, Holy, Holy is the lamb.  Bring forth strong minds, minds that align with You that can not waver in the battle and give us courage to roam this earth, believing that someday You will come and that we stayed true until the end.  Keep us from being weary, provide us with strength and guide our feet, so that no matter how long the battle is we will persevere.  We are sinful people, full of our flesh and our thoughts.  Please take our sins Lord, we beg of You and fill our minds of Your power, Your glory and Your majesty.  Today is Your day!  It dawns for You!  Let us see Your victory!  Help the doubters be full of faith and give us all a dose of You today.  We need You, O, Lord, more than anyone knows it.  Keep the arrows from us today and cover our houses as we fight for You.  I pray that You will be with me and all women worthy of battle.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 7, 2012

I'm sure you are all wondering where I've been.  Sorry for the delay this week but I was driving the wilds of Western Kansas and was too spent every day to sit down and write.  Not really an excuse but you will have to forgive me.  I did learn something along the way that I think will make up for my sojourn from this blog.

I got a very precious call yesterday.  I've been waiting for it for 9 months.  I sat on pins and needles as I heard the words I was sure were coming.  My friend, who has been losing her hair for 14 months, is healed!  Drum role please!  Not just for her but for God!  His glory reigns!  Now, when I first heard the words her voice did not contain tremendous excitement, it was steady with not much inflection and then I just had to say, "PRAISE THE LORD!"  Her emotions were up and down and all around and now she's in healing and because of the false prophets, I'm not sure she really believed.

My prayer for her was that God would heal and reveal.  That He would come before Her and reveal why this journey had to happen.  The trial was truly a spiritual battle, not just of the flesh but of the mind!  Never question someone when they are in the pit of despair please.  Just take a moment every day to be there for them, lift them up in prayer and don't leave their side.  I don't care if they seem silly to you.  In that moment, you are being called to support a friend, so do it with gladness.

I can honestly say that I am glad I was given the opportunity to walk with this woman.  It took me out of myself and my loss and gave me purpose.  I no longer had parents but God was giving me people to love.  I don't know why He chose her at that moment.  Especially, when I was such a mess too but He did and it has been a pleasure to stand by her, pray for her and watch our Lord work in every facet of her life.  And yes, when she called and told me she was healed, I shouted.  Why?  Because in that moment, I was looking at the face of Jesus.  The devil had no authority and couldn't continue to hurt her anymore for the Lord had healed her and she was on the mend.

Will I have to continue to be there for her?  Absolutely.  She is still losing hair which fills her with fear and trepidation but now she knows she needs to be still so the Lord can do the rest of His work in her.  If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe that this vibrant, beautiful women could have been robbed of her joy and of her life by losing her hair.  But she was. She lost focus, didn't believe God loved her and every time her hair fell out, she stopped trusting.  But Glory to God she never gave up and continued on her knees.  How glorious is that!

So, if you find yourself in the desert, waiting for a rain storm, hang on because the miracle is around the corner.  You're not being punished; you're being sanctified.  The sooner you go to Him and ask Him to calm the storm inside, the better you will be.  Seek the miracles that He's putting in front of you and never believe anything that isn't scriptural.  If you have a lot of noise in your head that's beating you down, it's not our Lord.  Tell Satan to get behind you!  And then, get on your knees and pray that Christ would capture every negative thought and fill your head with His word.  The real truth, not a web of lies.  Remember, Satan is the great deceiver so he knows the word but more than likely it will be taken out of context.  God doesn't punish us, He molds us.  He wants us to repent of our sins and there will be consequences for those sins but it's to help us not make the same mistakes twice.  If you're a parent you know exactly what I'm talking about.  You have grace upon your children but they must be taught right and wrong or you would have chaos.  That's what God does for us and if you feel as though He's put you in the desert, you have found His favor.  The Israelites had favor with God, He was simply waiting for them to trust and believe Him.  Take heart and know that in His time everything in your journey will right itself and tomorrow a new day will dawn.

If I can say anything of importance to you today, have courage in your storm.  He's near even when you don't think He is.  Seek Him first and remember that He is righteous and just.  Don't believe for one minute that Jesus doesn't know where you're at, He died on a cross for you!  So, if you're in despair look upon the cross for when you do you will see the love God has for your soul!  Be of good courage my sisters and pray for me too.

Psalm 91: 2-4 NKJV:

    I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust."

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
    And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before you rejoicing Your name.  I have wandered in the desert and you have returned me to the promise land.  I have watched your people wander and waited patiently for You, and only You, to deliver them.  I pray for women, men and children today that are in the desert.  I pray that You will lift them up and that they will ride on Your wings.  I pray that they would put one foot in front of the other and when they stumble, You would lift them up.  Please help all of us to beat our minds.  They are powerful and often roam into obstacles that are too high to climb.  But we have You, which gives us authority over our minds and the power of the cross to defeat our enemy.  Help us to lift our eyes to You, to remember the sacrifice You gave on the cross, and to believe and trust that when You are ready we will be delivered to the promise land.  We can grumble and more than likely we will complain but at the end of the day, we must be still so that You can calm our hearts and minds and make them one with You.  Our journey is but a moment but in the throes of the storm, we are weak.  Give us strength where we have none and give us the ability to see You in all circumstances.  We are like a stock of wheat, blowing in the wind, and then one day, You harvest our golden beauty and we become food.  I look forward to the day that I will be with You and hopefully, when I bow down it won't because of my insecurity, it will be because I know You are King!  HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND IS TO COME!  We need You Lord, build Your army and heal nations.  Without You, there is nothing but with You there is everything.  We are counting on You to grow us and feed us, so that we can bring in Your harvest.  For today, we just thank You for being our Savior.  You are all we need!  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 3, 2012

I love to get up early in the morning.  There are so many things happening before and during the sunrise.  It's my favorite time of day.  However, today was special because I actually got up, drank my coffee, and went on a run/walk for 2 miles.  As I began to leave my house, I was looking directly into the sun and I watched as four birds flew into the sun.  They were illuminated by the rising sun and all around them there was an orange and yellow glow.  It was amazing and of course, went right along with my study that I have been doing, "Stepping Up" by Beth Moore.

Today, Beth concentrated on Psalm 121 and the Lord being our Maker and protector.  So as I walked, I really spent time meditating on the lesson.  Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a deer scamper, birds flying and singing to one another, crickets chirping and yes, I even think I heard a squirrel climbing a tree.  Life is all around us but how often do you contemplate your Maker when you see it?

Do you believe that God created Heaven and earth?  Are you secure that He is your protector?  Or do you waver with the wind.  Do you sometimes feel secure in His arms and other times feel lost and alone.  I understand how hard it is to be still in the Lord and realize that He is with us in every circumstance.  We are selfish creatures by nature and even those who have faith can be crushed by an event.

How do we stay faithful to our God?  What key element must we practice in order to know Him and believe in Him?  I think and this is just my opinion, that we must humble ourselves before Him.  The Dictionary.com meaning of humble is: to destroy the independence, power or will of... (verb).  If we destroy that can we still be who we were meant to be?  Absolutely, because what we realize when we bow to ourselves and give everything to the Lord is that He truly is our Maker and protector.  We can't make anything that is not God ordained and we definitely don't have the knowledge to protect.  We have an idea or a concept of what protection looks like but only God can keep watch 24/7.  Man is incapable of sustaining 360 days a year without sleep.  Therefore, we must begin to practice becoming humble unto our Lord.

I guess that's why I like this study so much.  It makes me think about bowing down before the Lord, face down and really contemplating that He is Lord over my life.  Those that lived long ago understood what it's like to bow down to a King.  Today, we have a handshake and rarely show that kind of reverence to anyone. So for many, the concept of being humble and getting on our knees is foreign.  In the US we are far from this practice and we take pride in the fact that we can protect this country and others we have alliances with.  We determine our fate, at least that's what we're taught and we believe we are in control of our own destiny, which is a falsehood and should be cast out of our minds.  We can do nothing without Christ.  We are nothing without Him and if you truly believe you are in control of your world, take note, you're not.  Only Christ has the answers we seek.  Only He knows our future and only He can protect a nation.  It's by His hand all things were created and all things live.  It will be by His hand that the world will be saved and a new Kingdom will rise up.  If you don't believe me, take a look at Chapter 21 in Revelation.  You don't have to believe me, just read it and ask God to reveal Himself.

If you take one point to heart today, live humbly, serving others and believing this world was created by your Maker.  He is not full of pride but full of majesty.  Every beautiful thing we see is His creation, painted on a canvas.  There isn't a scientist in the world that can re-create the splendor we see every day.  It's not possible because God made Heaven and earth and He will sustain it for as long as He sees fit.  Take this to heart today and really put it in your mind.  And if you find yourself not really picturing Christ in everything you see, ask Him to open your mind and heart to His creation.  Pride is the death of us.  We will never be all knowing or all sustaining.  He gives us only what we need or what He desires to give.  Be humble my sisters and as you do, find Jesus!

Psalm 121 NKJV:

I will lift up my eyes to the hills-
      From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
      Who made heaven and earth.
      He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
      Behold, He who keeps Israel
      Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
      The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
      The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
      He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before you a prideful creature.  In my heart, I know that you have the key to all of the worlds woes and yet, in my own life, I sometimes believe I am self-sustaining.  The lesson I have learned over the last couple of years is that You are the only thing that sustains me.  I can't fix a broken heart, heal the sick or change the earth. I can't make it rain or drop the temperature.  I haven't the ability to change my circumstances, start a war or be all knowing.  I can only do one thing and that's to humble myself before You and ask You to change my circumstances, give me faith in the storm and simply be at peace when life is raging around me.  I must surrender my will to Yours and believe that the Maker of Heaven and earth can protect and keep me all my days.  The more I come before You, seeking You, the more I find You.  I am Your humble servant praying for the nations and asking for my King to show Himself to the world.  I want to know You forever and as I seek You; I pray You will make me Yours.  Please forgive me for my sins and make me strong in You.  Like the changing seasons, I want to change with them.  I am a piece of clay, asking the potter to shape me and make me Yours.  Take me in Lord and grow me to be Your woman.  There are millions of woman needing to know You.  If You so choose, bless my ministry so that I can make You known.  For all You do and for all You are, thank you for being my Maker, my Friend, my Father and my Protector.  If You're not on my side, nothing else matters.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 2, 2012

I started my day by making a cup of coffee and taking a shower and before I knew it, my head was back into Beth Moore's study on "Stepping Up."  You would think that I would have the patience to wait but this study has me thinking about all the emotions and revelations the Psalms have in them and I'm like a kid in the candy store, waiting for what God will reveal next.

Once finished, I got down on my face again and prayed to the Lord.  Nothing like bellyaching to the Lord on your face?  You might be laughing right now but try it.  I want to laugh much more than I want to complain to God.  Mainly because I am on my knees, face down with my bottom straight up in the air, thank goodness I have been watching what I eat and exercising, and even at that I try to do it when no one is awake.  I'm sure you get the picture!

Anyway, the Psalms have been where I go during my darkest moments.  I find comfort in the words of old.  They aren't much different today.  We still have soldiers fighting battles, temptation is all around and if we aren't looking up; we simply fall prisoner to ourselves.  Depression, anger, frustration, defeat, these are all things we face today.  But for me, I love the other part.  I like when David sings God's praises, believes that God will move mountains, and cherishes every day with his God.  David had problems, just like all of us today, but he hoped and prayed for a brighter future for himself and those that he served.

Do you believe in a brighter future?  Can you see tomorrow in a different light?  If you are currently in distress or frustrated probably not.  But there will be a brighter future, God promises that.  He promises that we won't stay in our situation.  He changes it, when and where, who knows but when God is ready to change, He does.  The key is if we are ready to let Him change it.  Women get in their heads far more than men.  They rarely see the bigger picture and when hardship comes that's all we can concentrate on.  My friend Michelle could probably express this more eloquently.  She fights every day just to get up and take care of her family.  Days of trial, went into months, and then a year and now almost 20 months later, she is still in the battle.  But every day she sits and reads her Bible, she cries out to Christ and says, "Woe is me." Never has she given up the fight, nor has she denied God.  She continued to look for Him and I can honestly say, I think she's found Him again.  Trials can beat you down, people can disappoint and the world can heap a ton of garbage on us but at the end of the day, Christ is in us, loving us and calling us.

That's why I love David so much.  He was honest with every emotion he had and so were the other psalmists.  They didn't let anger, frustration or anything else beat them down.  They found a way to look up!  They stepped up and asked God to heal a nation, bring peace among men and to provide for the people and He did.  What are we waiting for then?  Cry out to God today and tell Him your woes.  He's waiting and inviting each one of us to share with Him our darkest thoughts and our hearts. You might not even know that you carry woes in your heart but look and see what God reveals.  If you're not singing His praises today, something is weighing you down.

Psalm 142 :2 NKJV:

I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble.

Do you see anyone else in this Psalm?  We sit down and complain to our spouses, our boyfriends and our friends but at the end of the day, we are to pour out our complaint to Him and only Him.  They can't fix what is broken but Jesus can.  Just like David, we must seek and find Christ right where we stand or like me today, on my face, in the office, with my bottom in the air.  Thank goodness He loves me and lets me come to Him face down!  I hope this weekend is bringing many blessings.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, You know my heart and the hearts of those that read this blog.  They are seeking You and so am I.  I am looking for answers only You can give and as I think upon my circumstances, I know that we should bring all our complaints to You.  For those that are complaining, please help them see themselves better and give them Your vision for their lives.  Healing begins when we look for You and the only way anything will ever change, is if we allow You to change it.  So, I come before You today, once again surrendering my will to Yours.  I believe that You can and will protect our families and that if we pray, You hear us.  I know that not every prayer will be answered in my time.  Please keep us close as we look for You and help us not to complain to others but help us surrender our concerns, fears and complaints to You.  And as always, let those that haven't heard about You, hear today.  No one comes before You until they and You are ready.  Please make them ready to hear Your word and to believe in Your mighty power.  I adore You, Lord, and thank You for my life and for those that seek You.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...

September 1, 2012

Well, I've made it to September!  What an amazing journey it's been.  Today will be my 189th entry for Jesus Christ!  Wow, I'm so blessed and so are all of you.  The question today is, do you realize how much the Lord wants us to bless Him and praise His name?  David did and so did the other psalmists, but do you?

It may seem like an odd question but one I think that holds the key to us getting closer to God.  I started Beth Moore's study, "Stepping Up," today and boy does it pack a punch.  No real surprise for the ladies in the United States I'm sure but if you don't know her, she's an amazing teacher of God's word.  In the introduction she talks about her need for the Psalms throughout her life.  They have been my lifeline too.  It's amazing how one mans woes can heal someone thousands of years later, and yet, David's words still penetrate our fickle hearts.  I guess that's why he was and still is a man after God's own heart.

Drawing closer to God is what our hearts should desire, whether you've been a Christian for a year or 30 years.  We are not still living for our sakes; we are living for His.  The faster we get this concept the better we will live.  Being prosperous is wonderful but often empty, just sit down and watch the television for one second, pick up a magazine about the movie stars, or just look at most people that are wealthy.  Prosperity is so much more than money.  If you really want to embrace prosperity, then take time with the Lord every day.  I am not adverse to money believe me.  It pays for all the bills, my house, and even some things I desire.  However, I am saying that money can not buy you a heart for God; you can't pay your way into heaven and you can't bribe your maker.  It's by our heart that we are seen.  And as we all know, the heart is a fickle organ, it comes with a wide range of emotions that often leave us depleted and desolate.  God is here to fix all that but we need to step up and see Him.

One of the things I love about this study is the History.  Being a History major, I loved studying the wars and politics of the past.  Throughout History, there are answers that we don't even see.  So if you studied History you would know what a victory garden is.  You would also know the depression came upon the United States, that Germany was almost totally destroyed by Hitler and that Jesus Christ died on a cross.  But if you haven't studied for yourself, you really don't know.  That's why our world is in such turmoil.  Do we really think a leader can change the course of History?  I guess if you're talking about Jesus it can but no other leader can win a war, change the economy or bring about peace.  No one gets credit for peace on earth, mercy among men, or prosperity, except for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

So, after doing the introduction of the study I wanted to finish it the first day.  It's really hard for me right now because I want to complete the book so, I decided to take this study slow and see what God wants to reveal to me.  This is true History.  One man's journey, David, with a few other contributor's that helped a nation praise God.  In triumph and tragedy, they saw the hand of God and praised Him for all that He was.  I can name off at least 5 nations that need to be doing that right now, can't you?  Anyway, my point is, we do need to be in the word.  How better to defend a historical record than to read it?  I can't think of any, can you?

If you desire to get closer to God, then seek Him.  It's as simple as that.  You don't need me, your pastor or Beth Moore to get close to God.  All you have to do is study His word and you will find Him.  The Bible wasn't written for the scholar, although, some chapters may be more difficult than others but I've found if I ask God for wisdom, I get it.  With that being said, we may be spending some time in Psalms over the next couple of blogs.  I really want to meditate on what Beth is teaching and have God reveal His purpose on my life.  On day one, she asks us to look at the Psalms and identify key words, like hope and give the verse that corresponds to it.  So I did and God led me to the following verses.  I hope you enjoy the road through the Psalms today, I sure did.  Getting closer to God is intentional.  There is no better way to surrender to God then by reading His word and praying.  I actually got on my face today.  Thank goodness none of you could see my bottom in the air.  I thought that I would feel vulnerable and open but instead, I felt praise in my heart as I surrendered to my king.  It's so easy to surrender to Christ when my heart is wide open.  So, today if you're feeling distress, anxiety, worry, or fear, plop down on that carpet and say, "I surrender all."  He's waiting!

SUBMISSION:  Psalm 78:8 NKJV:

And may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation.  A generation that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God.

FEAR:  Psalm 34:9 NKJV:

Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!  There is no want to those who fear Him.

LOVE:  Psalm 119:163-165 NKJV:

I hate and abhor lying, but I love Your law.  Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgements.  Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.

HOPE: Psalm 39: 7 NKJV:

And now, Lord, what do I wait for?  My hope is in You.

DEPRESSION:  Psalm 30:5 NKJV:

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, as I lay on my face today I know I'm unworthy to be at Your feet.  And yet, You continue to carry me through my life, You love me and You prosper me.  There are not words or actions that can measure Your mercy or Your love for us.  I am humbled by You.  As I seek You today, I will find You and my prayer is that women all over the world will know You and love You.  You are the gatekeeper to our hearts and I know as we surrender our wills to Yours, they will align and Your glory will be seen throughout the world.  Continue to raise the women of You up and help us to grow closer to You.  I am at the bottom step, trying to reach my maker and as I call, You are near.  I come before You today a better person for spending time with You.  I know that Your History is important to the world, not just for knowledge but for a sense of You.  Men might let us down but You won't.  A thousand times a day I surrender my fears and doubts to You.  Like David, I share a heart that roams with emotion and also like Him, I seek You for the answers.  There are no bounds to Your love and yet, we often place love on what You do for us.  Please reveal Yourself to us and make Yourself known on this earth. I pray that You will not turn away from Your people but that You would help and guide us all our days.  May the Psalms penetrate our heart and may the people of the world hear my cry, Holy, Holy is the Lamb of God!  We are waiting on Your kingdom to come but until that day, fill our hearts with praise and worship for You.  Blessed be Your name, In Jesus name,  AMEN

Until tomorrow...
