Is Christ sufficient for you?  I know that when He answers our prayers He is.  It's easy to believe that He is enough when we get what we need or what we desire.  I'm wondering if He is sufficient enough when you aren't getting what you need or desire.  When the light is not light enough and the dark seems to be closing in, that's when He needs to be sufficient enough.

It's not unusual for people to begin doubting when all they can see is unanswered prayers.  It's amazing how many people think I have a direct link to Christ they don't have.  I don't really.  I just love prayer and know that Christ is the key to all prayers.  I also learned a secret long ago.  I can't pray for my will; I have to pray for His.  It really isn't rocket science but it works.  I also have known people that say we shouldn't pray for our needs.  Really?  So, we are just supposed to pray for others and never pray for ourselves.  I can't really fathom that.  I tell God everything.  I pray for my needs, your needs and anyone I run into. Prayer is one of the most vital parts of my life.  It has kept me on the right road many times in my life.  Without it, I have sunk to the pits of the earth.

It's not for me to determine for others what or how you should pray.  I'm just asking that you do.  Prayer connects us and provides the intimate relationship we need with God to do His work, be in His will and become His servants.  Christ prayed to not be tempted, for His Father to take His cup and when the disciples asked, "How should we pray?," He gave them the Lord's prayer.  So if it was good enough for Jesus, it's essential to us.  If you think about it, Christ will only be sufficient if you have a close intimate relationship with Him.  When we are close to someone, its hard to break that bond.  That's the way it is with Jesus, the closer we are the harder it will be for us to fall to our sins.  Not impossible, but harder.  Why?  Because when we are in the dark, we know where to go.  We remember Scripture that can help us and we move through the mountain by putting Jesus first.  We might ask why?  But in the end, we will reach the conclusion that Jesus is sufficient.

That's the lesson for all of us today.  Jesus is sufficient!  His ways are perfect even if we don't understand them.  Jesus knew the Father and still asked for His will to change and in the end, He chose His Father's will to be done, over what He wanted.  So, if you believe in God, you must believe He is enough.  I doubt I could have gotten through the last couple of years without clinging to Jesus and confessing that, "He was and is sufficient for me."

2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV:

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."  Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before you confessing that Your grace is sufficient for me.  I look upon the cross and realize that Your sacrifice makes You enough in all circumstances.  We may not understand Your ways but we know in our hearts that You are God and we will worship You all our days.  There is no greater God or Father.  You reign today in our hearts and minds.  You are worthy and we are Your servants.  Stand by us, O, Lord as we walk toward You, learning how to pray, how to worship and how to love You more.  You are all we need.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...
