Pray for the Christians of Mosul!

Good  morning all-

My heart is heavy this morning.  Today I celebrate my son's 24th birthday and at the same time read of little children being beheaded.  It is a travesty to God and to life.  A radical group is showing us that evil exists and that Christians are still being persecuted for believing in Jesus.

You would think that in today's world beheadings would not be happening and yet far across the globe in a town called Mosul, they are.  Women are being raped and killed because they would not bow to Islam.  It goes to show that the Bible is truth.  It says until the day Jesus comes back Christians will be persecuted for what they believe in and they are.

I have been praying for the injustice of men.  I have been praying that Christ would send warrior angels to fight against the dark and I have been praying that world leaders would have the wisdom to deal with such evil.

I am coming to you today to ask you to join me in prayer for the Christians that are in countries where radicals exist.  Even here in the US I am sure there are men waiting to prey against Christians. This is more of a holy war than we realize.  We have no strength.  No amount of weapons will destroy this evil; only Christ can crush the snake.

Here is my prayer, Lord please hear us as we pray it today:

O, Mighty God, Our Father, Who art in Heaven, please send Your warriors to the earth.  I am praying that You will surround the children and parents in Mosul and in the mountains.  Please provide their manna and give them strength to overcome the enemy.  Just like with Daniel You saved Him, we believe that our Savior can and will save.  We want Your will to be done but as we join hands we are praying that You will save the thousands that believe in You.  Evil believes its winning.  Men believe that they are right to persecute Christians but only You know the truth.  Men are not in control and You are mighty and powerful.  I'm calling on You Lord to save the weak, help the helpless and protect the men, women and children that know You.  We are one body and that body is broken watching the faces and the images of terror and evil.  If it is in Your will, deliver them just as You did with the Israelites.  Give them safe passage and a place to go.  We need You Jesus to intercede where weapons will do no good.  Only through the Spirit will this evil be destroyed.  Our hearts, minds and souls are outpouring with love for You.  We know that You can deliver and we ask You to do that today.  In Jesus name, AMEN.

Please pray Psalm 91 as it was the prayer for protection.  Here it is:

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (‭Psalm‬ ‭91‬:‭1-16‬ NIV)
