Magic vs. Acts of God...

Good afternoon ladies-

I have really been enjoying my 365 journey into the wonders of God's word.  This week I have read how Pharaoh's heart was hardened time and time again, until finally he let God's people go.  But what was most interesting to me was that  every miracle Moses did at Pharaoh's court, so did the mystic people (sorcerers) that the Pharaoh surrounded himself with, that is, until God escalated the wonders of the heavens.

God made a staff into a snake, so did the mystics.  God made the Nile turn to blood and every fish died.  "But the Egyptian magicians did the same thing by their secret arts, and Pharaoh's heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said." (Exodus 7:22 NIV)

Sorcerers, magicians and wise people looked upon Moses and Aaron and created the same miracles or did they?  In those two events Pharaoh's men could do that.  Black magic simulated God's power but then it gets interesting and things change.  God wanted them to believe they could replicate His miracles but they couldn't.  Later, he would kill frogs, livestock and eventually, take every first born son.  No magic could re-create the power of our God.

Take time to get into the word today.  It is powerful and we see something new every time we open it.  God is calling us to spend time with Him.  When we invest, we see results!

"But the Egyptian magicians did the same thing by their secret arts, and Pharaoh's heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said." (Exodus 7:22 NIV)

Be well my sisters and pray to see our Lord's Mighty hand.

Until tomorrow...
