September 20, 2012

Good morning all-

It's 5:59 am in Kansas and my coffee is brewing!  It truly is a glorious day.  I have completed my testing for work and passed with flying colors. Praise the Lord!  And later today I will practice and practice so that I can sell my latest product.  I hope your week is going well too.

Well, I have been blogging about spiritual warfare for the last couple of days and more and more I'm seeing how vital it is to our walk with God.  I bet most of you didn't even realize we were in a battle.  Probably because trying to find a husband, taking care of a husband or nurturing children is at the top of your list.  And it should be.  However, we are constantly being tempted to sin and there will be trials throughout our lives we will face.  So therefore, we are either in battle or we need to prepare for battle.

To be honest, I don't like to fight.  I would rather live in peace then to be in the throws of anger or arguments.  When I was in high school, I was the class nerd and unfortunately, was picked on continuously.  It was so awful that it made me graduate early.  The truth hurts but I just ran, ran to college so that I could deal with grown up people and even there I didn't really fit in.  So for years, I kept running and trying to change myself to be what others wanted so that I didn't have to be in conflict.  As I have gotten older, I have learned ways to mend bridges, build relationships and face difficult people.  However, I have also learned that there will be spiritual battles that are waging in my life and I have to be courageous and fight with Jesus by my side.  I can't run.  I have to rest in the arms of my Savior, build my relationship with Him and call to Him in my hour of need.  The battle can only be won if I have the courage to fight, through prayer, Scripture and by having authority over my flesh and my mind.  The latter is not always easy for me.  My mind is like spaghetti, it roams in a million directions and often the conclusions it draws have to be checked to Scripture because I'm the first to admit, sometimes my mind is more powerful than my logic.

So, if we are preparing for battle, what do we need?  We need Jesus!  A battle on earth can not be won without our Savior.  He is are only deliverer.  No man can save a people, no country is strong enough to save its nation without the power of the cross behind it.  Whether it's financial destruction or fighting terrorists in every land, Jesus is the key to victory and if you don't believe it, go back to the deliverance of the Jewish people.  I believe that God did part the red sea.  I believe that the Israelites roamed for years in the desert.  I believe that God did provide manna just for one day and I believe that Jesus came to win the greatest battle of all time!  A Son was born to die for all of God's people.  He is the only one that Has been chosen to have victory and if we align ourselves and our will with His, we will have victory too!

The key to winning any battle is strategy.  Strategy is not man-made, it is God made.  From the beginning, God aligned His people and their stories are written in a book that has lasted thousands of centuries.  The word is true and everything that God wanted us to know is in that book.  The book itself can't be discredited, however people try.  We don't know God's thoughts or ways so there may be more to the story but He didn't feel it was necessary for us to know.  It's like the general that has been briefed on the severity of an area in battle, do they tell the troops the whole story, no, they give them what they need to be successful and send them into battle.  That's what we have in the Bible, exactly what we need to know.  God knows the rest and He's working on the sidelines feeding us wisdom through the sidelines.  And if we come to the battle prepared and courageous, God will light our path and give us the equipment we need to fight.

Everyone that reads this blog is in a different phase of their spiritual walk and possibly in a different stage of battle.  Today, I just want to shine hope on you.  Jesus is our hope.  He is our Savior and He is the great commander.  He knows everything we face on a day to day basis and He's big enough to help all of us.  Our tears are His tears, our heart is His heart and we are His.  Just because we don't always get our way doesn't mean He's not there for us.  He is.  But we have to continue to do the things that are in front of us and let Him do the rest.  Why do you think troops train so much?  They train so they can be prepared and that they will have confidence in their commanding officer.  We must have confidence in Jesus, if we don't, our flesh will lead and we will lose the hope of victory.  I want us all to prepare so that when we face a battle; we can win it.  David faced Goliath as a child.  Every man was scared, shaking and petrified of Him.  They dropped their weapons in fright.  But David had prepared His mind for battle, aligned His will to God's and believed that with God He could be the victor.  And He was.  You can't argue with that, can you?  So, if a child can win over a giant, we should be able to face ours with confidence that Jesus is with us and that He will hold us up under fire.

Isaiah 9:2-6  NKJV:

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.  You have multiplied the nation and increased its joy; they rejoice before You according to the joy of harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.  For You have broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.  For every warrior's sandal from the noisy battle, and garments rolled in blood, will be used for burning and fuel of fire.  For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Micah 7: 8 NKJV:

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

Ephesians 6:11 NIV:

Put on the full armor of God, that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, we come before You, women who love and honor You.  We are in different countries, speak different languages and have different trials but we have one God, You.  As we come before You today, we ask that You would continually help us prepare for battle.  Lead us to Scriptures that will help us fight our flesh, our minds, and our troubles.  We understand that each day is Your day to do with us what You will.  You were spoken and prophesied over years before You came.  You were delivered to Your people to save them and the gentiles.  We are now all over the world, looking for You, waiting for You and asking You into our hearts and minds.  We are a sinful generation trying to understand our role in a sinful world.  Help us Lord by revealing Yourself to us.  Give us courage to fight the battles that are before us and help us win the war over our minds.  Protect our houses as we lead women to You and crush our enemies.  The walls are high, there is sin everywhere we look, murder, destruction and wrong thinking.  We can't break down those barriers unless You are present in them.  There is no future for us or our children and grandchildren if You're not in this battle with us.  So we call upon You today and ask that You would prepare our way.  We need You Lord because You did come to save us and You are a Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and our Prince of Peace.  Be all those things for us today and please provide hope, hope in You.  May we have faith to scale the mountains, ride the mighty waves, and go where no man wants to go.  We need You!  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...
