August 14, 2012

The earth is being rained on today.  Praise be to the Lord!  At least Kansas is and we haven't seen rain in a long time.  I can't believe how excited I was to hear the pitter patter of rain on the ground or to watch my dogs run in the opposite direction because they don't want to get their feet wet.  Oh the little joys of life.  For some, rain might be a nuisance right now but for Kansas, its a blessing.   When you have cracks in your ground 2 inches wide and at least 5 foot long, you pray for rain.  It's like when you are in a trial and you feel like God's left you and then all of the sudden, He appeared and all  your circumstances changed, that's what the rain is like for me.  I have been praying for weeks that the temperatures would drop and the rain would come and each day I prayed, nothing, but today the temperatures are dropping and the rain has come.  I knew that God would provide; I just didn't know when.

I'm sure you have experienced similar situations in your life, when you knew God would provide but you just didn't know when.  It's the anticipation of knowing He will and that when He does, glory will rise.  Unfortunately if you're like me, I can be impatient and want the results as soon as possible.  But as I look out my window today and watch the rain come onto the land, I realize that the wait was worth it and I am praising Him for it.  I can't remember really praising God for rain before.  I guess its one of those things you really don't pay attention to unless you haven't seen it in months.

That's life.  We go about our daily lives and unless there's something to shake them up, we just keep moving.  I'm not saying God isn't in them, but is He?  How much more do we call to Him when we are in a drought?  How much more do we seek Him when things are in chaos?  How much more do we surround ourselves in Scripture just to get a glimpse of His faithfulness?  If you're like me, a lot more.  You go to Him in times of trial.  You depend upon Him to change the outcome.  You seek Him to understand and to learn and at the end of the day, you grow closer to your Lord!  That was me 6 or 7 years ago.   Life wasn't all that bad.  I gave time to the Lord but not like I do today.  He was a small piece in my daily regimen, now He's the air I breathe.  When I don't seek Him out in a day, I feel it. When I don't go to church, I feel it.  And when I don't say Lord, "Here I am."  I feel it.  I am so grateful for the droughts in my life because in the end, they make me love Him even more.  During my hardest trials, I learned what it was to seek Him for my manna.  I learned that the only way to get out of bed was to go to Him first and I learned that even when I'm not faithful, He is!  Do you know how freeing that is?  To know that in my sin, He loves me.  When I doubt, He knows.  When I am faithless, He carries me.  What a great Lord we serve!

Today, all over the world, women are fighting for their families.  We are fighting for our future generations and we are fighting for ourselves.  There are women in abusive homes, women that are killing their children, women in prison, and women hurting all over the world.  We are one.  It's time that we unite and shout to the world that Jesus reigns.  Personally the best way to find Jesus is to shout to Him.  He hears you and when He does, be ready because He may just call you.  Please pray for the women that need Jesus. Please pray for one another.  Please pray for the world.  And please pray for the future generations, that they will seek the Lord more and love Him forever.

We are just a few, wanting to shout that we have a Savior.  Don't give up the fight.  Talk to your friends, talk to your children, be examples for young women but before you do any of that, get on your knees and let Jesus be fully in your life.  Give Him everything and seek Him daily.  You can't do this in your own strength, you will have to do it in Jesus'.   I'm with you my sisters.  Often like you I have wandered but today, I know where my lifeline comes from, it comes from Jesus.  Be proud that you run to Him, be bold and speak out and tell the world what He has done for you.  Just like the rain, Jesus is watering the earth, seeking the lost and asking them to come to Him.  Let's be the women that help Him.

Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV:

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

   John 6:31 NKJV:

Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

3 John 1: 2 NKJV:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
My prayer today:

O, Lord, thank you for granting my many prayers.  The rain has come and the earth has cooled and You provided it.  Without You, there would be no reason to get up in the morning.  You provide everything we need, water to drink, air to breath, food to eat and rain for the land.  We wake up to sunshine and we go to bed to the moon and stars.  The land is vast and its all Yours.  There are many things we take for granted, especially in the US.  Please help us to see that nothing should be taken for granted.  That every blessing You poor out and give to us, not because we deserve it but because You love us.  The land knows what we often don't.  You control everything!  You are the beginning and the end.  We are Your people and You are seeking the lost, the broken and the confused.  Help us reach out to them and to love them for You.  Please pour out Your wisdom on the land and help us all seek You first.  You are the light in the darkness.  You guide us, You provide for us and You love us.  We never deserved any of it but You are faithful.  Help Your servants to be faithful to You today.  We seek You Lord and thank You for every provision.  We need You Lord and we ask Your forgiveness for the times we thought we were providing.  We aren't, You are.  Be with all of us today, all around the world, and unite Your women in praise.  May our lips proclaim You Jesus, not just today, but always.

Until tomorrow...
