September 7, 2012

I'm sure you are all wondering where I've been.  Sorry for the delay this week but I was driving the wilds of Western Kansas and was too spent every day to sit down and write.  Not really an excuse but you will have to forgive me.  I did learn something along the way that I think will make up for my sojourn from this blog.

I got a very precious call yesterday.  I've been waiting for it for 9 months.  I sat on pins and needles as I heard the words I was sure were coming.  My friend, who has been losing her hair for 14 months, is healed!  Drum role please!  Not just for her but for God!  His glory reigns!  Now, when I first heard the words her voice did not contain tremendous excitement, it was steady with not much inflection and then I just had to say, "PRAISE THE LORD!"  Her emotions were up and down and all around and now she's in healing and because of the false prophets, I'm not sure she really believed.

My prayer for her was that God would heal and reveal.  That He would come before Her and reveal why this journey had to happen.  The trial was truly a spiritual battle, not just of the flesh but of the mind!  Never question someone when they are in the pit of despair please.  Just take a moment every day to be there for them, lift them up in prayer and don't leave their side.  I don't care if they seem silly to you.  In that moment, you are being called to support a friend, so do it with gladness.

I can honestly say that I am glad I was given the opportunity to walk with this woman.  It took me out of myself and my loss and gave me purpose.  I no longer had parents but God was giving me people to love.  I don't know why He chose her at that moment.  Especially, when I was such a mess too but He did and it has been a pleasure to stand by her, pray for her and watch our Lord work in every facet of her life.  And yes, when she called and told me she was healed, I shouted.  Why?  Because in that moment, I was looking at the face of Jesus.  The devil had no authority and couldn't continue to hurt her anymore for the Lord had healed her and she was on the mend.

Will I have to continue to be there for her?  Absolutely.  She is still losing hair which fills her with fear and trepidation but now she knows she needs to be still so the Lord can do the rest of His work in her.  If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe that this vibrant, beautiful women could have been robbed of her joy and of her life by losing her hair.  But she was. She lost focus, didn't believe God loved her and every time her hair fell out, she stopped trusting.  But Glory to God she never gave up and continued on her knees.  How glorious is that!

So, if you find yourself in the desert, waiting for a rain storm, hang on because the miracle is around the corner.  You're not being punished; you're being sanctified.  The sooner you go to Him and ask Him to calm the storm inside, the better you will be.  Seek the miracles that He's putting in front of you and never believe anything that isn't scriptural.  If you have a lot of noise in your head that's beating you down, it's not our Lord.  Tell Satan to get behind you!  And then, get on your knees and pray that Christ would capture every negative thought and fill your head with His word.  The real truth, not a web of lies.  Remember, Satan is the great deceiver so he knows the word but more than likely it will be taken out of context.  God doesn't punish us, He molds us.  He wants us to repent of our sins and there will be consequences for those sins but it's to help us not make the same mistakes twice.  If you're a parent you know exactly what I'm talking about.  You have grace upon your children but they must be taught right and wrong or you would have chaos.  That's what God does for us and if you feel as though He's put you in the desert, you have found His favor.  The Israelites had favor with God, He was simply waiting for them to trust and believe Him.  Take heart and know that in His time everything in your journey will right itself and tomorrow a new day will dawn.

If I can say anything of importance to you today, have courage in your storm.  He's near even when you don't think He is.  Seek Him first and remember that He is righteous and just.  Don't believe for one minute that Jesus doesn't know where you're at, He died on a cross for you!  So, if you're in despair look upon the cross for when you do you will see the love God has for your soul!  Be of good courage my sisters and pray for me too.

Psalm 91: 2-4 NKJV:

    I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress;
    My God, in Him I will trust."

    Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    And from the perilous pestilence.
    He shall cover you with His feathers,
    And under His wings you shall take refuge;
    His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

My prayer today:

O, Lord, I come before you rejoicing Your name.  I have wandered in the desert and you have returned me to the promise land.  I have watched your people wander and waited patiently for You, and only You, to deliver them.  I pray for women, men and children today that are in the desert.  I pray that You will lift them up and that they will ride on Your wings.  I pray that they would put one foot in front of the other and when they stumble, You would lift them up.  Please help all of us to beat our minds.  They are powerful and often roam into obstacles that are too high to climb.  But we have You, which gives us authority over our minds and the power of the cross to defeat our enemy.  Help us to lift our eyes to You, to remember the sacrifice You gave on the cross, and to believe and trust that when You are ready we will be delivered to the promise land.  We can grumble and more than likely we will complain but at the end of the day, we must be still so that You can calm our hearts and minds and make them one with You.  Our journey is but a moment but in the throes of the storm, we are weak.  Give us strength where we have none and give us the ability to see You in all circumstances.  We are like a stock of wheat, blowing in the wind, and then one day, You harvest our golden beauty and we become food.  I look forward to the day that I will be with You and hopefully, when I bow down it won't because of my insecurity, it will be because I know You are King!  HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND IS TO COME!  We need You Lord, build Your army and heal nations.  Without You, there is nothing but with You there is everything.  We are counting on You to grow us and feed us, so that we can bring in Your harvest.  For today, we just thank You for being our Savior.  You are all we need!  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...
