January 25, 2012

Do you ever wake up with a song on your mind?  I often do and when I do; I know it's significant.  Today, I woke up signing, "on a rock I stand, no other ground but sinking sand."  How fitting for today.  Do you ever feel like the ground under you is sinking and you don't know what to do?

When you feel yourself sinking and you don't have a clue what to do, sit down and take a few moments to pray. Jesus spent many hours in prayer, without it you will sink.  God gave us the ability to pray so that we could connect to him.  He is our rock but if we don't use Him the ground will take us. I don't want to drown and either should you.

Prayer with others is a powerful and under utilized tool.  The more people praying, the better it is.  First, you have given the opportunity for others to share in your life and second, there is a special union when other followers unite with you.  It's part of being Christ's bride.  The rock is waiting so get on your knees and call your friends.  He knows your circumstances but only you can know Him if you pray!

Deuteronomy 32:4 NKJV:

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

Psalm 62:6-7 NKJV:

He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.

His work is perfect; He is perfect.  These Scriptures are powerful.  Look at all the places, He is.  Scripture is a powerful tool for us.  I challenge each of us to be in the Power of the Holy Scriptures.  Your Bible isn't something to sit on a shelf, it's so you can be fed!

My prayer today:

Lord help us to take on this challenge.  Lift everyone up to You and give us time in our daily lives to spend with You.  Provide us avenues to pray for others.  We want to be women of You.  Continue to grow us and help us when we are on sinking sand.  You are our rock and it is You I want to stand on.  Give us courage and a mighty dose of You today.  We pray for our families, friends and those we don't even know yet.  Please lift them up and be their strength today.  We thank you for being our father.  Help us trust in You always.  AMEN

Until tomorrow...
